In 1889, Mark’s great-grandfather bought the family ranch that we
still operate a portion of today. Mark developed a passion for old
Navajo blankets and rugs in the 1980s and has studied them
extensively since then. Before graduating from New Mexico State
University with a BS degree in Agriculture and Extension Education,
Mark studied sheep and wool production, which came in handy for
further studies of the wools and weave used by the Navajos.

Nowadays, the study and love of Navaho weavings are the main focus
of our side-by-side work efforts.  Lori is also a lifelong New Mexican
as well. Her late father, Lake Tarpley, was an often trader with the
Navajos, Santo Domingos and other Indians in the 1930s through the
1970s. These old friends often came to the Tarpley place in Vaughn,
New Mexico and trade for eagles (when it was still legal).

Ranchfolks started offering weavings on eBay in 1999. We promise
old-fashioned values - such as a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, and
we'll always treat you as we would like to be treated ourselves.
We're also always ready to pay fair prices for the next good old pre-
1940 Navajo weaving.
